  • Compile the Guides of reddit to place on the wiki, include a credits link at the bottom
  • Write Documentation for Templates: Empty Documentation
  • Update Items with newest Multiplayer trade rotation

  • Create missing fiends:

Last Update: --Lydhia (talk) 17:08, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

  • Missing card numbers for Table of Ability Cards:
Just add the numbers and possibly missing informations in the bottom table. I try to move them up than in the upper table.

Last Updated: --Lydhia (talk) 12:23, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

  • Take note of fiends encountered in Third Exploration: Hunter Island and update locations of all fiends on their respective page.
    • Update Regions, Categories and specfic locations (nodes) on pages carrying the fiend info ("Name of fiend"). Example: Dust Hunter (Water).
    • Update Regions on pages carrying the fiend card info ("Name of fiend (Card)"). Example: Dust Hunter (Water)(Card).
    • Update location (node) "Possible Fiend Encounters". Example: Pampa Fields.
  • Admin to update "Current Events" on frontpage.
  • Check the 2* to 3* Augment materials for the base cards (Dust Hunter/Warrior/Mage/Sorcerer/Ripper/Soldier and Grudge Knight/Wizard/Assassin/Ranger/Shaman/Fighter) - in many cases they are listing the same but I mention that they are something like:
    • Warrior Grudge I: material A x2; material B x3 <--> Warrior Grudge II: material A x3; material B x2 (or some other material C)
    • I cant do this because I have all of them on 3* and cannot see the materials anymore
    • Many of the materials costs seem to be reduced as of version 1.4 (June 2017). New costs should be reviewed across all of the cards.
  • Complete and update Sicarius pages, add ★4 sicarius quests:
  • Add new Category:Gameplay Mechanics pages for Auto-Abilities, Job Change or Active Job Change, and Elemental Influence

To-Do List After Updates

  • New Job Cards
    • Create Job Batch Category

**Category:Job Cards => Always up to date Gametje007 (talk) 23:48, 14 June 2017 (UTC) Only lacking is fully update when people obtained job

Link in Main Page

A long time ago I realized that there are no more links on the main page for the related pages. For example: there is no link to the pictlogica cards page but there is a link. If you want help with this I'm here to help. Sorry, my english is using google translate to communicate

Page with broken links

Hello there, why is all mages ability card like aero, bizzaga, fira etc is on pages with broken links category?. I do not see any broken links there. AD2701LY (talk) 14:50, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

Rarity ★3 vs 3★

The game always puts the star before the rarity number: http://imgur.com/a/5lfDA Shouldn't the wiki also do so? --BryghtShadow (talk) 10:20, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Sicarius pages

Currently, all 3 difficulties are single Sicarius battles, but if EN follows suit of JP, eventually dual Sicarius battles (e.g. Hashmal&Ifrit) will happen.

The Sicarius (Ifrit, Shiva, etc) and the quest (Ifrit the Simmering, Shiva the Frozen) should be handled by separate templates and perhaps pages (like cards and fiends). {{infobox sicarius}} should handle the sicarius, and {{infobox quest}} should handle the quest. --BryghtShadow (talk) 14:30, 11 March 2017 (UTC)

User suggestion

The following is from user feedback in a support ticket:

nice database except its only as good as the blind picking method in the game..... everything on all of your lists does not give an explanation of what the card does... i was looking for and explanation before i buy a card since the game doesnt give one till after you buy the card... oh well.... big list someone put work in to and it doesnt help (mobius final fanatsy cards or abilities lists)

-Alianin (talk) 17:54, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

I'm assembling a spreadsheet of spells and their common effects, matched across the elements. ex: single target (Monk) - Fire Fist, Ice Fist, Wind Fist etc. This should be convertible into a new table (maybe on the Table of Abilities page?) once I have it together.
-- As part of that, would it be more useful to keep an entire Job Class together, or to sub-group the Job Classes under the spell effect? Gousha (talk) 05:44, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Skillseed fusion

Hi people, new one here. I did some math about SKILLSEED FUSION RATES but I need someone to help me out create the page since I'm not into setting layouts, tables and stuff. Someone please? Contact me here --Juilian01 (talk) 14:25, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Created Skillseed Fusion Chances. I've done the table for using ability cards. Missing material card fusion rates (the ones that say "Has a high Skillseed Fusion success chance.") --BryghtShadow (talk) 08:52, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll work on it to add all infos I have. --Juilian01 (talk) 18:25, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

How to handle this mixing up different data at the same place

The last days I really got confused by the last edits. I really don't know how to describe this but it seems that the structure this wiki has as base is completely ignored or uneffective. For example:

There are multiple examples for such controversies, so I think we should find a solution how to handle this. Maybe I am wrong with my interpretation of seeing different things there. If we stay with the given structure it will be much work to move all this informations to the right place, but the questions behind this will be:

  • there are multiple users that edit the wrong pages, will they give up if we move and delete all there changes because they do not fit with the given structure
  • if multiple users edit the "wrong" pages is this a sign that they look on the wrong pages based on a wrong given structure?

I usually have no problems with correcting this but I do not want to feel like controlling and dictating all others. But on the other side if there is a given structure I think it should be used... I am really interested in your opinions how to handle such things. Thanks --Lydhia (talk) 12:47, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Analysing the examples you gave I could tell the tricking fact is that we have some spells wich add ailments, refering at them with the same name as the common abilities which applies them so we have to make a distinction: (Unguard as example)

  • Unguard ability -> The name of the ability itself is "unguard".
  • Ability with description "Adds Unguard" -> The ability actually applies Ignore Defense, calling it Unguard but nothing to deal with the ability "Unguard".

My solution: keep a pattern to links, something like Card link to -> Ability link to -> Boons/Ailments. Except some unique cases that may appear, never link an ability from another ability. About the the fiend encounters, I'd say keep fiend information in fiend page, encounters are fiends info, so nothing much to discuss. Getting to the point of the speech, I don't think there's a wrong structure, just lazy people which do bad work: the fact itself that are so much people editing the wiki causes confusion. When I started editing here, I just looked at other people works, I couldn't even know how to edit if u remember, but I started with little simple edits, keeping an eye on how things work here. Most people don't do that and just press "Edit" without any concern about what they're doing. My mantra is "Do a good work or just don't do it", and I think everyone should use it as way of life. I guess creating an "Edit Guide" would be a good idea since you can't stop random people from editing, just give 'em tools to do it good. These are my thoughts. Greets --Juilian01 (talk) 23:06, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

I propose making redirects: "Unguard (ailment)" → "Ignore Defense". That way, editors can do this: Adds [[Unguard (ailment)|Unguard]] (nullifies Defense) to main target..
A guide, like "Project:General formatting" perhaps. --BryghtShadow (talk) 09:06, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Ability stat templates

All abilities, if they have an increasing attack or breakpower, follow a pattern: [1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.6, 3.0]. After seeing all those ability stat templates, I thought of making it easier to display the stat for each ability level. And to reduce duplication/repetition.

Behold: Module:Ability stat, which will do most of the work! I think I've gotten most of the automation. Still not too confident on the cooldown formula, e.g. for abilities like Prompto's Piercer. Especially because Crit Chance may be a non-zero value even if it's not shown on the card. e.g. Taunt has a 5% crit chance.

Later on, I would like to have the module handle displaying of ultimate ability stats (follows the above multiplier pattern). --BryghtShadow (talk) 12:21, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Please confirm

  • Can someone please confirm the 6th extra skill for the Fist cards? Only thing I found was on reddit one time named as Marshall Combat and in some other cases Martial Combat, but never saw a vid or pic with a prove and first seems to be google translation, the other was named months before the cards were puplished. So if someone can confirm this or find the right name please move the page and the picture. Thx
  • Second thing that needs to be confirmed is the 2nd extra skill for Balthier & Fran: FFXII (Card) - only found Revenge Burn, but is this right? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by ‎Lydhia (talkcontribs) at 13:31, 17 July 2017 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
--BryghtShadow (talk) 07:49, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
  • sry forgot the sign. thx for the confirmation. While updating the pictures yesterday I search for info about those 2 skills and found nothing official. little bad you made a new page instead of moving the wrong named, but i will declare it for deletion if I will have more time and maybe update the picture. Btw is there anybody who can delete wrong pages? --Lydhia (talk) 08:57, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Another time I need information I can't get by myself. Just mentioned that Ability Batch June I came out of Early Acquisition. So the question is what happened to Ability Batch May II (the Taunt cards)? Can't see if they are fresh in the Ability Shop too, because I own them all. So May I was August 2nd, June I September 5th, so May II August 16th or September 5th or still in Early Aquisition? Never saw a note about them. Thx for help --Lydhia (talk) 23:38, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Companion spirits

After noticing the Spirit Grove page was vastly out of date, I've added in most of the spirits I could find, and reformatted the entire thing to something I hope is better than one long column of tables.

  • Welcome, Gallery view! Do you folks like the look, and is it an improvement?
  • I've formatted galleries for the sections that have pictures, and I've left the ones without pictures in list view. Please add more pics as you see holes... and change those parts over when you do.
  • I know for a certainty not all of the spirits are in there (New Year's promos?). My own collection only goes to March 2017, so please check your own set for ones that aren't listed.
  • I've fudged the terminology a bit -- should we refer to these as Spirits, Spirit Companions, Companion Spirits, or something else?
  • Keeping the list in the Sprit Grove seems odd. This may be better put in a different page. List of companion spirits, perhaps? (see previous name question). What do you think?

Gousha (talk) 05:27, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Perhaps if the page becomes quite big, we can split it into a "table of spirits" and "gallery of spirits"? For now, I think the gallery can stay with the spirit info.
For terminology, I think we can write "Spirits (also known as Companion Spirits) are <description>." Here are some examples of the usage in-game (bold-text only for highlighting in these example):
  • Help > Shop > Spirit Grove: "You may welcome new spirits into the fold by spending Spirit Tickets at the Spirit Grove. If you acquire any Spirit Tickets, visit the grove and find a spirit that suits your tastes."
  • The text below the number of spirit tickets at the bottom of Spirit Grove: "You can befriend a spirit by using 1 Spirit Ticket."
  • The tips when Echo first appears in Chapter 1: "A spirit has joined you on your journey. Find more companion spirits in the Spirit Grove in the Shop menu, and also during special events. Differences between spirits are purely cosmetic, so there is no difference in how they aid you in battle. When you obtain a new spirit, go to Profile in the Social menu to equip it."

Unintended usage of category pages as mainspace articles

Pages in the Category namespace are not meant to become huge articles. Please move the contents to the main namespace and keep category pages short.

--BryghtShadow (talk) 07:06, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Are these examples which categories gone wrong or the only one where it makes sense? Think Category:Cards got really big now too. --Lydhia (talk) 08:21, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
Just some examples from the most recent changes. The category page should be for describing what the pages listed on it are. Pages are automatically added so manually making a list on the category page itself is just strange. Imagine the ability card category if it looked like the job page. --BryghtShadow (talk) 10:42, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
Ok, can only talk about my changes of Category:Early Acquisition. Someone started it and I continued to add the new batches. Maybe there it will be better to delete the listed cards and only make a table with the batches with release date and date the left early access? should be much smaller then. --Lydhia (talk) 10:49, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
I agree. Category pages should have 2-3 paragraphs at most -- usually only a line or two.
The current content is good. In most cases I think we could easily move it off of that page and into a page of the same name, without the Category label. (ex: Category: Job Cards could move its content directly to Job Cards.) However, we do seem to have a LOT of lists around the site, so perhaps some of these could be consolidated. For example, the Update Schedule page points now to the Events and Category: Card Batches pages, instead of taking current lists itself.

Updating Abilities by Job Type

  • I tried starting to update the page Abilities by Job Type. On the Talk-Page I finished a first try. Please lets discuss about it there, because the tables will become very large very fast. --Lydhia (talk) 14:09, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
