The Final Fantasy VIII Collaboration Event is a three-month-long celebration in Mobius Final Fantasy presented as a content crossover with Final Fantasy VIII. Events take characters from FFVIII -- notably Squall, Rinoa and Ultimecia -- and set them in a new adventure with the Mobius main characters.

The events stretch across multiple event regions, multiplayer campaigns in the Ring of Braves, batches of summoned Heroes and Abilities, new Jobs, and many extra rewards and gifts.

Story Event: The Sleeping Lion[edit | edit source]

A powerful spell has been cast over Palamecia from a far distant universe, warping the very fabric of time and space…

Players are rewarded the Squall job and the Revolver weapon as soon as they enter the first region, so that they can play through the storyline as Squall. This, or the elite Squall Leonhart Ultimate Hero are required to play through the first chapter.

This storyline also makes extensive use of the Draw System for game enhancements, similar to the magic system in Final Fantasy VIII. The Draw System is also used in the later Ranked event, The Transient Sorceress.

Gifts[edit | edit source]

This event first occurred at the same time as the 3rd Anniversary Campaign, which gave a HUGE number of gifts, so FFVIII-related gifts were few.
