Community Events[]
Special Events are being promoted online, outside of the game.
- The Final Fantasy Portal App will reward Elixirs, Phoenix Downs, Mystic Tablets, and Summon Tickets to all players in mid-September, depending on how many Portal users read news stories, watch videos, and play Triple Triad during August.
- Almost! Players achieved 3 of 4 goals, netting 3x Elixirs, 3x Phoenix Downs, 15x Mystic Tablets, and 1x Summon Ticket, all to be awarded Sep 7.
- The FF Portal App is also holding a 3rd Anniversary Celebration Poll:
- the favourite Job will be released as a cell phone wallpaper in the Portal app.
- players chose the Scharfrichter!
- the favourite Echo skin will be made available in September in the Spirit Grove.
- players chose the Officer Echo -- a spirit not available since fall 2016!
- the top 3 favourite Supreme Cards and favourite Ultimate Hero card were made available in the Increased Draw Rate Greater Summon on Aug 24
- Final poll results chose Tifa Lockhart, Ultimate Chaos (Card), Lights of Hope (Card), and Warrior of Light: FFI (Card)
- Facebook has a promo event from Aug 1 - 17.
- If the FB community gives 2,000 Likes, players will receive Ability Ticket x88, Elixir x3, Phoenix Down x3, Ether x6, Crystal x8, Mystic Tablet x8
- If the FB communty gives 5,000 Likes, players will additionally receive Summon Ticket x6, Growstar x1, and Mystic Tablet x8 (16 total)!
- Done! over 5000 likes, so players received all of the listed rewards on Aug 21.
- Facebook had an earlier event that awarded Elixir x10 to all players on Aug 1.
- Square Enix Mobile Friday had a Steam Community challenge on July 26, which awarded Crystal x3 and Summon Ticket x3 to all players on July 27. It also awarded Mystic Tablet x10 to all players on Aug 1.
Errors and Compensation[]
The rewards suffered from multiple issues during August, leading to some extra rewards in September.
- An Emergency Maintenance was performed on the servers on Sep 5. Since there was no app update, there was no Summon Ticket given out.
- The Greater Summon Bis (Aug 4-8) did not include the FFXV Legend Cards as pullable ★5 cards. In compensation, the Greater Summon Bis was Re-offered from Sep 6-13 with up to 8 pulls at no cost depending on how many times they used the original Summon.
- The Supreme Tickets did not show up for all players who logged in. Those players received their Ticket on Sep 6, and the Supreme Summons reappeared for their benefit from Sep 6-20.
- The Increased Draw Rate Greater Summon (Aug 24-Sep 1) was mistakenly listed as including Griever: FFVIII (Card) and Squall Leonhart (Job) in its potential draw pile. It did not. In compensation, all players received Magicite x500 on Aug 30. Those players who made use of the Summon will receive an equal number of chances at Griever and Squall Leonhart (at similar rarity chances) in a special summon from Sep 13-20.
Game Balance Changes[]
Maintenance and Game adjustment news page
Square Enix made adjustments to the overall game balance, with changes to a large number of cards and some base functions.
A game app update was pushed to all users on Aug 1, 2019 (version 2.1.100), adding the August 2019 cards and the Titles functions. As is normal, Square Enix awarded Summon Ticket x1 to all players in compensation for the 6 hours that the app was down for upgrades.
Weapon boosts[]
Previously, Weapon Boost would knock 3 minutes off the boosting time for each point of Stamina used in battle. (4 minutes if you have VIP Mode purchased). As of the August update, these credits are permanently doubled to 6 minutes per stamina point, or 8 minutes with VIP mode.
Effect on battles in Bahamut Lagoon are unclear.
Titles[]
New Feature! SE is adding a new Titles achievement system with prestige achievements for various overall game actions, such as "X number of fiends killed" or "more than X Elixirs used". In concept, these are similar to the Trophies in Final Fantasy XII. Each Title will grant a permanent increase in your base stats.
This is a separate system from the Steam and iOS GameCenter Achievements that were used in Act 1.
See Titles for more information, and a list of known rewards.
Starter Packs updated[]
Starter Packs are getting rebooted again! The Job Cards are staying the same from the revision 6 months ago, but the Ability Cards have all been replaced with newer selections. Unlike previous cases, current players will not be offered the new Starter Packs - they are for new players only.
